As the Red Sox continue to attempt to turn their season around, top prospect Michael Chavis has given them a spark. Since making his big-league debut on April 20, Chavis has been on fire, hitting .314 with three home runs, eight RBIs and a 1.042 OPS in 11 games.
Chavis had three home runs in five games from April 23-28, then followed that up with a three-RBI game in Monday's 9-4 win over the Athletics.
Chavis was mostly viewed as a call-up who could just help fill in at second base with Dustin Pedroia, Brock Holt and Eduardo Nunez all on the injured list, but if he keeps hitting like this, he could very well force his way into a more permanent role.
