May 4, 2018 Here's hoping you find your faith in The Force and can enjoy celebrating something nerdy like this...even if you saw "The Rise of Skywalker" (what an overwrought buffet of terrible...but hey, streaming on Disney+ as of today!) We're still bummed we didn't get to bust out our Derby outfits Saturday and host a four-hour party based on a two-minute race. Socially distanced mint juleps and Kentucky butter cake just aren't the same. Man, 2020 is officially the Galactic Empire, and it has struck back. Could definitely use A New Hope, if you know what we mean? OK, we'll stop. But just know The Mashup will be with you, always.

Green Bay Packers vs. Seattle Seahawks, 8 p.m., ESPN
The infamous "Fail Mary" game, which features the worst call in the history of football, made by replacement refs, is worth a rewatch for both your sports fix and the laughs
NO FAITH IN FOXBORO
Somehow this slipped under the radar at week's end, but Bleacher Report's B/R Gridiron ran a piece post-draft predicting the 2020 season results for all 32 teams (gentle reminder: NFL Schedule Release, pretty much the next kinda live sorting event, is set for May 9th). And with all the turnover and departures in Foxboro this offseason, BR predicted the Patriots would go...4-12. .

Transition, struggles and growth will certainly be a part of the first post-Brady season. It's only natural. But this seems a pretty drastic prediction considering the defensive talent and coaching prowess the Pats return with. Oh, not to mention the ascension of this guy...
People get ready. (h/t eduardo071397 twitter)

After Andy Dalton went home to Texas, joining the Cowboys instead of the Vegas-favorite Patriots, it became even clearer that the dawning of the age of Stidham is upon us. Will it be a "Tank for Trevor" or "Losses for Lawrence" season as one anonymous AFC evaluator fears? We'll see...but we find people's lack of faith in the Pats disturbing. FUNBORO, MASSACHUSETTS
Asante Samuel made some noise this weekend when he told TMZ that playing for the Pats was not fun and he believed Brady left town because he'd had enough. OK, fine. Maybe Brady and Belichick needed to consciously uncouple after 20 glorious seasons. Been there, done that, yet keep doing it. This is fuel for the fans mad that Belichick and his inflexible demanding ways drove the greatest two players from Foxboro this offseason. And sure, when Samuel says this you know somewhere Lane Johnson is smiling. But not everyone agrees with Asante's assessment.

May 3, 2020 Also, many Patriots, currrent and former, have said that winning is really fun. And you might have helped contribute to the biggest win, and greatest season, of all-time if you could have just held the ball.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
"Oh my god, no! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!" - A Bears fan whose reaction to the drafting of Mitchell Trubisky went viral three years ago. The Bears declined the fifth-year option on the Q they took ahead of DeShaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes this weekend.
