Happy Monday! It was a rollercoaster Sports Sunday, almost an overload after over four months with no live sports. Bruins (blech). Celtics (hooray). Red Sox (welp). All three teams are off Monday, which gives us a chance to catch our collective breath. Gotta get back in sports fan shape after the layoff (cue montage of us drinking beer, tweeting furiously, yelling at TVs and cheering wildly). Let's get ready for a big week! First, the Bruins need to get rid of the rotten Sunday leftovers ...

NEWTON TO BROOKLINE TO SANU
No debating the Patriots are going to look incredibly different on offense in 2020. And one player who's hoping for a positive return on that statement is wide receiver Mohamed Sanu, who arrived from Atlanta (after the team dealt a 2nd round pick for him) with high expectations. After a solid start vs. the Ravens Sanu got injured vs the Eagles and saw his stats, much like a couple of 4th down passes thrown his way, drop. This offseason he had surgery to repair said ankle, and has looked good in rehab, as we've detailed here time and again. And while his chances at making the roster seem solid, despite his hefty $6.5 million cap salary, if Sanu can continue to show chemistry with Newton, and connect like this in a Brookline throwing session with Cam Newton? Maybe it's time to recalibrate expectations back to immediately post-Ravens game. Despite the recnt spate of opt-outs and the challenges of the division and COVID-19 season ahead, if these two get a thing going...

BEST OF BOSTON SPORTS SUPER SUNDAY SOCIAL MEDIA
Whether you were glued to the TV/some form of media with the wave of Sunday Boston sports, enjoying the glorious weather, or a combination therein (raises hand), we got you covered and amassed a couple of tweets that help sum up the feelings and reactions of fans to Sunday's first day of meaningful Bruins, Celtics and Red Sox action in forever.
Nobody knows who the Patriots starter is likely to be in 2021. Could be Newton if he plays well and signs long-term. Maybe it's Stidham if he nabs the gig this season, or proves worthy for the post-Cam call. Or maybe it's someone not on the roster, be they draft pick or free agent. And while some have posited that Dak Prescott could be a solid 2021 FA fit in Foxboro, there's another Texas QB who a lot of Pats fans would love to see rock the Flying Elvis. And he's received Patriots-esque coaching! But now that possibility seems less likely...unless he's following script from Belichick. I put nothing past him.

August 2, 2020 BECAUSE WE NEED THIS
Jayson Tatum's son, Jayson Jr, aka Deuce, cheering for his dad, virtually, during Sunday's Portland game, is the high note and good feels we all need. Helps that the Celtics won...but we'll help Deuce understand that later on. We needed this like the C's needed to hold that lead and get the W. Hooray Deuce and his dad!
