Monday's Mashup: The HORSE competition couldn't have been WORSE

The year 2020 to date, in just 13 seconds ...

— Rex Chapman---- (@RexChapman) April 11, 2020 Welcome to the Morning Mashup for Monday, April 13, 2020. Hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend together. You know, with the same couple you've been seeing nonstop every day for the past month or so. We, too, missed the Masters and the nap that comes each day with it. And definitely made a point to miss the Super Bowl 42 replay (there's some sort of metaphor about suffering in there someplace). Anyway, let's get your week going with some Monday need-to and some probably-don't-need-to-know goods. BROADCAST HIGHLIGHT2011 Bruins Postseason Encore 2011 SCP Final Game 7: Bruins vs. Tampa Bay Lightning - NESN, 8:30 p.m. W-E-L-PThe NBA's HORSE Tournament got underway Sunday night, with current NBA and WNBA players as well as NBA Alumni, including Celtics legend Paul Pierce (who lost in a first-round matchup vs. Zach Levine). What did you think? To us it wasn't perfect, but from the "Beggars Can't Be Choosers Dept" it ... well, it wasn't Gronk in a fan-free Wrestlemania, put it that way.

H-O-R-S-E could not be worse. I gave it 5 min. Hard pass.

— NBA (@NBA) April 13, 2020DRAFT AHOY, CAPTAIN!

Saturday I was joined by Greg Hill Show producer, and my broadcast arch-nemesis, Ken Laird for an afternoon show. And we had the pleasure of NFL.comdraft expert Lance Zeirlein joining us to break down this year's prospects and who he could see being a fit in Foxborough (the password is Gross-Matos). Lance also gave some insight on the potential of Jarrett Stidham and the development on N'Keal Harry. Definitely worth a listen if you're a draftnik or Pats honk or both.

And if it's a solid possible draft order you're looking for then get your mock on with the latest from Daniel Jeremiah, aka @movethesticks, about as sound on the mock as they get.

Boston teams and athletes alike have been stepping in numerous ways during the Coronavirus crisis. Charitable efforts, donations galore, time and again showing the heart of a champion. The latest is Boston Celtic Gordon Hayward, who along with his wife donated hundreds of Dunkin' gift cards to Boston Children's hospital workers.

Tom Brady's good at social media, but he may have to up his game if he wants to keep up with the barbs and salvos being fired in the NFC South. The latest being Saints coach Sean Payton, who took to code to roast a Falcons fan who got out over his skis.

With great lateral movement and incredible recovery speed, I wouldn't be surprised if Belichick, already in possession of a deep secondary, gives this guy a look on Day 2 of the upcoming draft.

"Imagine if he built on that profound generosity by turning the Mets into the Patriots of Major League Baseball. He wouldn't be a mere family member. He'd be the godfather of every National League household from New Haven to Trenton." -- NY Post sportswriter Ken Davidoff, in his piece April 11th on why Robert Kraft should buy the NY Mets.
