Some good sports news to get your day before Friday rolling, like maybe that we'll see live sports again soon! Baseball continues to discuss if and how they can return, and where, and who gets paid how much. Nothing new on the NHL return front, and whether they finish the regular season, straight to playoffs. The NBA seems to be having a positive week in terms of building towards a return, with a conference call among the league's stars, lead by LeBron James and Chris Paul, this past Tuesday, the strongest indicator that the players want to play ball, safely, as soon as possible. A sentiment echoed Wednesday by one of the call's participants, Celtics star Jaylen Brown.

But hearing about the call, and from Brown, and from insider supreme Woj of ESPN that 3/4ths of the league's facilities might open Monday? Insert Jim Carrey "So you're telling me there's a chance" meme. Sports fans, we're in the business of hope these days

The robo backboard, aka Roboard. It adjusts itself to the best angle to get every basketball shot in the hoop. Make your jokes about which team or 3-point bomber could use this (Marcus Smart?), I know a lot of dads who would love to get the upper hand on their kids in driveway pickup games. The frustration on your kids's faces alone would be worth the price.

I want to go out to eat again, and safely, as much as the next person. But of all the possible solutions to the social distancing issues facing a gradual reopening of America, this could be the weirdest. Effective? Maybe. Creepy? Absolutely. Earlier this week we featured footage of Mike Tyson's comeback training, a 53-year-old former champ moving and hitting with the speed and power of a man half his age. It brought back memories of Kid Dynamite himself, as well as the last time someone well past his boxing prime went for the title. And won it. Just over twenty years ago America's favorite sports dad did the unthinkable and won the heavyweight championship. At age 45. Was Michael Moorer as much chump as champ? Maybe. But most of us would be on the mat after those rights...and there's no denying what a feel-good story this was. America loves us a good comeback story. Especially one that sells home grills!
