— Boston Bobby (@TheBostonBobby) May 25, 2020 Happy Tuesday! Hope you had a nice Memorial Day weekend. Let's keep it upbeat today. Beaches are open in MA! We're closer-ish to sports! Closer-ish to summer, or whatever this summer will look like! Weather in New England is going to be great this week! We got those good vibes rolling. Why everything was almost perfect Monday, and then I saw this:

Gonna pretend we didn't see that, and just proceed with the good vibes and summer anticipation.

BROADCAST HIGHLIGHT

2007 Red Sox Postseason Encore ALDS Game 2: Red Sox vs. Los Angeles Angels - NESN, 8 p.m.

The iconic Manny walk-off game. You know what image I'm talking about.

BRADY VS. MANNING: STILL GOT IT

Of course, we watched "The Match 2." It was the only live sports of the week. It was a brief return of the greatest football rivalry of the decade; Brady/Manning. Heck, it's Tom Brady. When Brady's on TV we watch. That's what we do in New England. And his ups and downs of "The Match 2" reminded us why we love him. Why we miss him. And gave a great preview as to how popular Tampa Bay Buccaneers games are going to be this fall. Because ratings for "The Match 2" were phenomenal.

5.8 million average viewership for "The Match" per Turner it was the most-watched golf telecast in cable TV history.

To put those in perspective, "The Match 2" rated higher than any episode of THE LAST DANCE, which has kinda been the sports highlight of the last three months. The weather was terrible. The gameplay was uneven. The entertainment was solid. This means more celeb matchups in golf or other sports that allow for betting, trash talk and social distancing. And more Tom Brady. And while we may not get more competitive occasions of Brady vs Manning, suddenly ESPN has to be thrilled they greenlit "The Man In The Arena", and whoever has Buccaneers games this fall? Boom Shaka Laka.

WHAT IF...

The NBA, upon return in late July at the ESPN Wide World of Sports, went with 1-16 tourney seeding? How would we feel about that? Funny thing is, same opponent for the C's if they went conference-style playoff seeding to begin with, too.

How y’all feel about this seeding? pic.twitter.com/b6PywmbO5a

BECAUSE YOU NEED THIS

When America's thirst for normalcy and live sports is at an all-time high, and MLB can't get it's act together and it's game back on the field, Joey Baseballs might be the hero we need.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Anyone can support a team that is winning - it takes no courage. But to stand behind a team to defend a team when it is down and really needs you, that takes a lot of courage.” -- Prescient words of Green Bay Packers legend, two-time Super Bowl champion and NFL icon Bart Starr, who passed away at the age of 85 a year ago today.
