Happy Wednesday! Celtics! Bruins! Red Sox! Even the premiere of Hard Knocks: LA! [George Takei voice> OH MY! Which, by the way, is a whole new look at how America's most popular sport is attempting to play this season.

August 11, 2020 BROADCAST HIGHLIGHT
Red Sox vs Tampa Rays, 7:30 p.m. - NESN
After a live sports tripleheader Tuesday it's nice to cool down with a midweek Sox tilt before cranking it back up tomorrow and into the weekend.
HARRIS LOSES, SOX WIN!
California Senator Kamala Harris, a former presidential candidate herself, was named Joe Biden's VP running mate in the 2020 election. And while we take no political sides or bias here, we'd like to take a moment to remember when she teamed up with fellow California Senator Dianne Feinstein to wager California foods vs Boston foods (you know, one of THOSE bets) against Ed Markey and Elizabeth Warren. And we'll guess Harris is looking for better results this November, because she lost. And Boston became Titletown USA in the process thanks to a Congressional Resolution. So we owe a note of debt to Senator Harris? Mostly to the Sox, and Boston World Series icon Dave Roberts, who managed maybe the worst playoff series ever? He'll always be a hero to us.
WRONG WAY TO CAP A WIN
Love you, Kemba, and love to hear you're feeling great. But take it from Tom Brady of all people; no matter how great you are or how much you win in Boston this is kinda never OK.

August 11, 2020 SPEAKING OF BRADY...
The Big 10 announced Tuesday that they were canceling their college football season for the fall, hoping to push it to the spring. The PAC-12 followed suit. Unsurprisingly, people from all walks of life weren't very happy with the decision. A decision that could alter the college football, college sports and pro sports landscape for years to come.
When the university presidents of the Big 10 open their campuses to ten of thousands of students in the coming weeks, they'll lose any room to say this was about the kids' safety. This is about liability. Plain and simple.

August 11, 2020 Are the Big10 schools shutting down campuses and not allowing students to be around each other in dorms, classrooms, student unions, and any other setting where they could gather? Are they going 100% remote ? Just asking...

August 11, 2020 The Big 10 has officially canceled the 2020 football season, according to multiple reports. Announcement coming at any moment.Dreams crushed, local economies destroyed, lives forever changed because of decisions based on fear.Shameful day for college football.

August 11, 2020 Will Big 10 players try and transfer out to SEC and ACC schools? Will they play next spring? Will the NFL try and move some games to Saturday to seize the broadcast vacancies? Get your popcorn ready, and maybe a hanky or two. This will be fascinating. And sad.
YOUR ANSWER IS...

August 11, 2020 BECAUSE WE NEED THIS
We say "here's the new best thing on the internet we've seen" a lot on this blog. But this time we mean it. Easily the best use of a Phil Collins song in social media ever.
Not sure who to thank for this, but it’s brilliant. Volume up. pic.twitter.com/q4OjWl4XXx

August 10, 2020 ON THIS DATE IN BOSTON SPORTS HISTORY
As the Celtics make way to the bubbled-up playoffs with a chance at their 18th NBA Championship, we step back and remember that on this date in 1969 the team sold for a then-record $6 million! Or roughly what it costs for a family of four to have courtside seats at a game.
