Celtics weren’t willing to give up Jayson Tatum for Anthony Davis

Well, for the Celtics fans who wanted nothing to do with the idea of Anthony Davis in Boston, you got your wish on Saturday. Davis is now a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

And it seems the driving force behind Davis landing in Los Angeles and not Boston was the Celtics unwillingness to give up Jayson Tatum, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times.

The Boston Celtics refused to make Jayson Tatum available in trade talks with New Orleans, league sources say, putting the Lakers in prime position to strike the deal that teams Anthony Davis with LeBron James

With Davis off the table and Kyrie Irving rumored to favor the Nets most of all teams, it seems like the era of Tatum and Jaylen Brown as the team's top-2 players is about to officially begin.
