Latest CDC recommendation extends live sports hiatus


The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced it is advising against all events that consist of 50 people or more for the next eight weeks in the United States.

The CDC’s recommendation does not apply to “schools, institutes of higher learning or businesses.” However, one business that will be impacted is the sports industry.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting the NBA is looking at possibly playing games into August.

CDC recommendation of no events of 50-plus people for next two months comes as a number of NBA owners and executives increasingly believe a best case scenario is a mid-to-late June return to play -- with no fans. League's scouting for possible arena dates all the way thru August.

Also, Sam Kennedy’s idea that games lost early in the 2020 MLB season will get moved to later in the year seems much less likely.
