Triple-A Pawtucket announced Dustin Pedroia and Brock Holt have been transferred to Double-A Portland for this weekend’s series against the Altoona Curve (Pirates).
Pedroia played five games with the Sea Dogs at the start of May. He went 4-for-16 (.250) with one RBI. In his five-game stint with Pawtucket, Pedroia went 3-for-19 (.158).
Holt played in seven games for Pawtucket since rejoining the team on May 15. He went 6-for-23 (.260) with two doubles and a home run.
Right-handed reliever Adam Lau was added to the PawSox as part of the move. Lau has posted a 1.83 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP in 12 appearances for the Sea Dogs this season. Opponents are hitting .175 against him and he has 26 strikeouts in 19 2/3 innings.
