Enes Kanter making the trip to Toronto for Boston's game on Christmas was far from a guarantee. And it's not because the big man is battling an injury that prevents him from traveling.

The doubt was a result of Kanter's ongoing issues with the Turkish government. In a piece for Canada's The Globe and Mail, the Celtics center writes he receives death threats "almost every week" because of his activism.

In the same piece, Kanter also announced he will travel with the Celtics to face the Raptors on Wednesday:

"...on Christmas night, I will play in my first game outside the U.S. in years when I take the court against the Raptors," Kanter wrote after thanking a list of groups and individuals for making this possible.
