Early Monday morning, former Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine tweeted news that former Red Sox player Bill Buckner has passed away.
As I clear my head and hold back the tears I know I will always remember Billy Buck as a great hitter and a better friend. He deserved better. Thank god for his family. I ll miss u Buck!

Buckner was part of the Red Sox organization from 1984-1987 and rejoined the team in 1990. He was 69 years old.
