Kemba Walker has been diagnosed with the flu and will miss Friday's game against the Hawks. The Celtics are unsure if Walker will travel with the team to Chicago for Saturday's game.
As a result, the Celtics have recalled Tremont Waters from Maine.
The rookie has played in three games for the Celtics this season. In those appearances, Waters has averaged 4.3 points per game on 41.7% shooting while playing 9.3 minutes per game. The two-way player is averaging 20.4 points per game on 44.2% shooting for Maine this year.
Carsen Edwards will rejoin the Celtics for their game in Chicago on Saturday. He will remain with the Red Claws for Friday's game.
Lastly, Marcus Smart's minute restriction has been lifted.
"Went to the eye doctor today and had (my eye) checked out. Everything looks fine," Smart said after Friday's shootaround. "(The doctor) said everything is progressing in the right direction."
