On Sunday afternoon, TMZ reported Kobe Bryant died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. The crash was later confirmed by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office on Twitter.
(UPDATE: 6:00 p.m.): At a press conference Sunday night, authorities confirmed nine people, including the pilot, died in the crash. Multiple reports say Bryant's daughter, Gianna, was one of the other people in the helicopter. They were traveling to a basketball game and had one of her teammates, and one of the teammate's parents, aboard.
