The team echoed Smart's comments: he is not exhibiting symptoms. He has been in isolation for several days. The Celtics’ team medical staff will continue to monitor Smart as he remains in isolation.

In their statement, the Celtics also noted, “Testing was initiated because of exposure to a known positive case.” The team added it is awaiting further testing results.

In addition to Smart, Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell, Christian Wood, two Lakers players and four Nets players, including Kevin Durant, have tested positive for COVID-19. A member of the Nuggets and three members of the Sixers have tested positive, as well, but those two teams did not disclose if the individuals were players or others within their organizations.
