Bobby Dalbec went nuclear on the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays) in Double-A Portland’s 3-1 win on Wednesday. The Red Sox top-ranked prospect according to Baseball America went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored on his two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth, which gave the Sea Dogs the lead to complete the come from behind win.
Dalbec’s dinger wasn’t a wall-scraper either. Estimated at 382 feet, the 6’4” third baseman’s bomb clocked in at 106.6 miles per hour off the bat. It’s Dalbec’s first home run since April 22, his third on the year.

May 9, 2019 Although he’s been on a bit of a dry spell when it comes to the long ball, the 23-year-old has been hot of late. Now in the midst of a five-game hitting streak, he’s boosted his average from .189 on May 3 to .228. Even through the rough times, there have only been two games all season where Dalbec didn’t reach via a walk or hit.
