Jayson Tatum becomes first Celtic named Eastern Conference Player of the Month since 2017

Jayson Tatum couldn't ask for a much better gift on his 22nd birthday than the one the NBA gave him. On Tuesday, the forward was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for February.

Tatum is the first Celtics player to earn the honor since Isaiah Thomas received it in January of 2017.

Throughout Boston's 9-3 February, Tatum averaged 30.7 points per game on 49.4% shooting (48.1% from 3-point territory). He also averaged 7.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.3 blocked shots per game throughout the month.

Other players up for the honor were Giannis Antetokounmpo, Pascal Siakam, Trae Young, Kyle Lowry, Bradley Beal, John Collins and Collin Sexton.

Over in the Western Conference, LeBron James was named February's Player of the Month.
