It's Wildcard Week and all you Patriots fans may be looking for some fun, with your team getting its usual playoff bye. This week's tournaments on DraftKings are tightly priced and that's making lineup construction a genuine challenge. With only four games on tap, this will be a relatively quick read.I am really loving a few players this week—to the point where almost all of my lineups are built around them. And to get all of my targets in, I have to make some very tough choices with low cost players—few of which have any genuine appeal.Don't forget to tune in to the Fantasy Football Hour, this Sunday morning right here on 93.7. Jim Hackett and I will take your questions (via text) and get you ready for Sunday. We'll also have some fun looking back on the biggest stories of the 2017 fantasy season. To keep pace with all of our fantasy football content, follow me on Twitter @Rotobahn. I can make a strong case for just about any of these guys though I am definitely fading Jared Goff ($6,700) and Blake Bortles. In Goff's case, it's about him not being worth his premium price tag when you look at his matchup. If the market agrees with me, there could be some contrarian appeal, but my wants at other positions make it really hard to spend large for Goff. For Bortles ($6,000) it's about the matchup. The Bills fit the Jaguars desired approach perfectly. It's hard to fathom the Jaguars not being hugely run-heavy in this game. The rest of the quarterbacks, due to either pricing or upside have some appeal. While Tyrod Taylor's ($4,700) matchup screams "go away", his price combined with his running ability makes him a dart throw for the risk-takers. Marcus Mariota ($5,500) has to be worthy of consideration when you look at the savings and his ability to post foot-points. Throw in the fact that he could be playing from behind and you have some reason for optimism. Tennessee's run defense has me considering Alex Smith, who is relatively affordable at 6,300 units. If K.C. is going to have a good day, much of it will be tied to Smith's arm. Matt Ryan has the weapons to post big numbers and you save some money at 6,100 units, but he's almost a fade for me at this point, because he's hardly had any big games all year. Both quarterbacks in the Panthers at Saints game are appealing at their price points. Drew Brees ($6,400) has a matchup that is best for the pass, so he feels like a pretty safe play but also a play with plenty of ceiling. That being said, it's the other quarterback who I really want to roll the dice with.Cam Newton, Panthers at Saints, $6,500Like I said, there are plenty of ways to play the QB position this week, but the one I really want is Newton. While my desired lineup construction also has me using Mariota a fair amount, Cam is the guy who gives me that monster ceiling because he can post huge points with his feet when he is inclined to do so, and in big games like this one, you can almost depend on it. He could run for 100 yards and multiple scores in this contest and I want some exposure to him in tournaments in case that happens.RUNNING BACKSLeonard Fournette, Jaguars vs. Bills, $7,400He's the big bargain on the board in my mind. To me, Fournette is right there with Gurley in terms of floor this week. His matchup is choice. The Bills have given up 18 touchdowns on the ground this year which is three more than the lowly Bucs gave up. The Bills were also the most charitable team in terms of giving up rushing yardage. They, along with the Chargers got toasted to the tune of 1,796 yards on the ground. Now consider that the Jaguars want to run as much as possible in all matchups. You never know how an NFL game will play out, but the Bills defense sure looks like a road apple here. I'm using Fournette a ton this week, at this price.Todd Gurley, Rams vs. Falcons, $9,700He's no bargain at that price, but I really don't want to try and win without him this week. The Falcons are tailor made for Gurley in terms of posting fantasy points. He could do more this week as a receiver than as a runner, though I expect plenty of production across the board. I'd rather have Gurley and a hole in my lineup than just about any combination of players who add up to 9,700 units. Now, just to be reality-based, getting Gurley and Fournette into your lineup is going to create some issues when you get to your WR3 and flex spots, but again, for me, this week, it's worth it. In fact, as you'll see, I'm prepared to go even more extreme. I want the studs this week.Alvin Kamara, Saints vs. Panthers, $8,600I wish DraftKings wasn't so, in my opinion, savvy with the pricing this week. They have Mark Ingram ($6,900) cheap to the point of being very tempting, but I like this matchup much more for Kamara, who is much more diverse in the passing game. I'm not finding many ways to get Kamara into my lineups unless I am either willing to gut my receivers, which is painful, or go to Mariota at quarterback.WIDE RECEIVERSMichael Thomas, Saints vs. Panthers, $7,800He's got a sweet matchup here and it appears that his hamstring concerns are in the past. He's not listed at all on this week's injury report. The way to attack the Panthers is through the air in the intermediate areas. This is right in Thomas' wheel house. He's also the Saints best red zone weapon along with Kamara. Thomas' pricing has me trying to get him into my lineup versus going with the dynamic rookie back. It's hard to envision the Saints doing well this week without Thomas. If you want to go the other way on this one, then Ted Ginn is the WR play at $5,200. He could get loose for a deep ball and pay off in this matchup. In tournaments there is some merit to the idea.Tyreek Hill, Chiefs vs. Titans, $6,800I like this matchup for Hill and I want some exposure to him this week, but I do want to balance that with some exposure to Travis Kelce, and unless I am building an Alex Smith stack, I do not want both of them in any of my lineups. The Titans are weak against the pass and the Chiefs will need to throw a fair amount to win.Brenton Bersin, Panthers at Saints, $3,000As I alluded to earlier, my desired lineup construction creates a need for some cheaper players. While I certainly don't want Bersin in my lineups, he's the best of the receivers priced at or near the floor. My hope is that he scraps out five or more points. If he gets to double digits, that would considered a major win. He's had four targets in each of the last two games.TIGHT ENDSThere are four tight ends I am using this week, for various reasons, and they run the gamut of price ranges.Travis Kelce, Chiefs vs. Titans, $7,100It's a great matchup and I want some exposure, but it's not easy while also loading up on the running backs. Kelce's chances of catching touchdowns in this game are pretty good and he's obviously tough to cover in all areas of the field. Kelce, as I have said repeatedly all year, is the one tight end other than Gronk, who can can go off like a WR1 and really boost your score.Greg Olsen, Panthers at Saints, $5,000If I can't get Kelce into my lineup, then Olsen is my next choice for ceiling and that's what winning GPPs are all about. The matchup is mediocre by the numbers as the Saints have been on the stingy side with tight ends. Still, Olsen runs a lot of routes from the slot and even outside, so he can sort of transcend the matchup. He's also unlikely to draw much of Marshon Lattimore in coverage. His targets are all but assured with 27 over the last three games.Delanie Walker, Titans at Chiefs, $4,700Every dollar counts this week, and if I am forced to move off of Kelce and Olsen, Walker is a nice landing spot. He's a veteran and I expect him to step up in this huge game. He's got a solid connection with Mariota and he's involved near the goal line. With DeMarco Murray ruled out, there should be more short range targets available.Josh Hill, Saints vs. Panthers, $2,500I don't want to do this, but if my lineup is really good overall, I can get away with it by skimping at tight end. The floor price tag opens up other possibilities. Again, I don't want to do this, but wouldn't it be just like the Saints to find their little known tight end for a score this week? They love that stuff down on the goal line. When everybody is flowing to Kamara, they go the other way to player X. This week, player X could be Hill. If you are punting a spot, this is a good way to do it.
