Finding Julian Edelman with the 232nd overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft was one of the greatest Draft Day feats in Patriots history.
So, what was Edelman -- a college quarterback at Kent State -- thinking at the time? The wideout took to social media to paint a picture of when he got the call from the Patriots.
Listen coach, I'm the best arm talent in this draft. I'm a gunslinger. That's all there is to it. I'm gonna make some throws you didn't think were possible. What's that? You drafted me at receiver? I see. pic.twitter.com/FmN6viT31P
— Julian Edelman (@Edelman11) April 23, 2020Only four players from that seventh-round are still active in the NFL -- center A.Q. Shipley, defensive tackle Clinton McDonald, kicker Ryan Succop and Edelman. Interesting enough is the fact that there is just one player still around from the sixth-round: Patriots cornerback Jason McCourty.
