Mookie Betts explains his latest great catch

SEATTLE -- Sometimes a little bit will go a long way. That was the case when it came to Mookie Betts' baseball glove Saturday night.

Betts' glove isn't all that different than the ones used by other outfielders, a slightly oversized Wilson A2K. Perhaps the only thing that made it stand out was that it was mostly red.

But in the third inning of the Red Sox' game against the Mariners, with Domingo Santana at the plate, Betts and his glove showed how unique they were.

Okay I've watched this fifty times and still can't understand how he caught it. We're all living on Mookie Standard Time. pic.twitter.com/U6sOSIgOwL

"I was too close to dive," Betts told WEEI.com of the catch. "If I dove I would have been too far."

Betts has obviously made all sorts of standout catches, but this one was unlike the others. At least according to the Gold Glover.

"Not off the top of my head," said Betts when asked if he had made any other grab like that one.
