NFL tells Barstool Sports' Dave Portnoy he can't come to Roger Goodell's house

It seemed too good to be true. In the end, it was.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, perhaps the most visible and vocal critic of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, took to Twitter Friday night to announce that the NFL had retracted its invitation to watch a Monday Night Football game at Goodell's house during the 2020 season. The opportunity was initially earned by Portnoy after he won the bid on the auction item, committing $250,000 for charity.

Emergency Press Conference - Goodell is a coward. Hates charity. Hates kids.

According to Portnoy, the NFL's message said that the money was being refunded to "El Pres" after the league's security check. The issues surfaced by the NFL when identifying why Portnoy was no longer eligible included his arrest outside league offices during Tom Brady's Deflategate drama, and attending a Super Bowl LLII after he had been banned by the league.
