LOS ANGELES -- Dave Roberts' decision to remove Rich Hill in Game 4 of the World Series elicited a wave of criticism, particularly after the Red Sox scored eight runs off the Dodgers' bullpen. Such scrutiny comes with managing on baseball's biggest stage.

But thanks to a tweet from President Donald Trump, this move got a unique wave of publicity.

Hill finished his outing going 6 1/3 innings, giving up one run on one hit while striking out seven and walking three. He threw 91 pitches.

After the Red Sox' 9-6 win Roberts responded.

"The President said that? I'm happy he was tuning in and watching the game," said the manager. "I don't know how many Dodger games he's watched. I don't think he is privy to the conversation. That's one man's opinion."
