Things couldn't have gone much better for the Red Sox on Victoria Day.
Not only did the Sox celebrate the Canadian national holiday with a decisive 12-2 win over the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre Monday afternoon, but along the way they received a bucket full of key performances. (For a complete recap, click here.)
It started with David Price.
Making his first start since going on the injured list with elbow tendonitis earlier this month Price jumped right back into form, allowing two runs on three hits over five innings. Throwing just 67 pitches (48 strikes) the lefty fanned four and didn't walk a batter. In his last five starts Price has given up just nine earned runs in 29 innings.
Then there was Michael Chavis.
The Red Sox outfielder, who came in with a .144 batting average and .421 OPS (the worst in the majors), launched his first homer of the season in the sixth inning. The blast came on a 1-1 changeup from Blue Jays righty reliever Elvis Luciano, sailing over the left field fence.

The Red Sox' bullpen continued to roll, teaming with Price to not allow the Blue Jays a hit after the second inning.
The combination of Brandon Workman, Heath Hembree, Ryan Brasier and Hector Velazquez managed four no-hit innings to finish things off.
For Hembree, it was the 10th straight outing without giving up a run, with hitters now claiming just two hits in their last 28 at-bats against the righty.
