The Red Sox got some good news on the Eduardo Rodriguez front.

Alex Cora said prior to Thursday night's game that the lefty starter will throw a bullpen session Sunday. That is well ahead of what the team had scheduled following Rodriguez's ankle injury July 14.

"We're not getting ahead of ourselves," said Cora of Rodriguez. "We're going through every step. But he looks great. From what I saw that Sunday to what I ... I told him the only thing he needs now is a pedicure, that's it. The way he looks, that's all he needs."

Rodriguez had been pitching outstanding leading into the injury, not having given up a run in any of his last three starts. The lefty is 11-3 with 3.44 ERA.
