BALTIMORE -- Michael Chavis is moving up in the world.
For the first time since his promotion on April 20, Chavis will hit cleanup, with the second baseman getting the nod against Orioles lefty John Means. Chavis is hitting .333 with a 1.186 OPS and six homers.
Starting the day on the bench for the Sox will be Andrew Benintendi, with J.D. Martinez starting in left field. Rafael Devers slides into the designated hitter spot, allowing Eduardo Nunez to play third base.
