Mitch Moreland left Tuesday night's game in Washington D.C. in the third inning and hadn't played since. He returns to the Red Sox lineup Saturday in Kansas City.
The first baseman is slotted in at the cleanup spot against Royals righty Brad Keller. Moreland's replacement, Steve Pearce, managed to capably hold down the fort, going 3-for-5 in the Red Sox' win Friday night.
