NEW YORK -- Mookie Betts put a scare into the Red Sox when he left with a shoulder contusion during Sunday's win. But Tuesday the fears subsided.
Betts, who was hit in the back of the right shoulder with a throw while running toward second base against Texas, gets the start in the opener of the highly-anticipated series against the Yankees. The leadoff man has had some success against New York starter Luis Severino, carrying a .316 batting average (6-for-19) against the righty.
Here is the Red Sox' lineup with Drew Pomeranz on the mound for the visitors.
