Tzu-Wei Lin's major league momentum has been put on hold.

After getting the start in center field Friday night Lin was forced from the Red Sox' game with the White Sox after hurting his left knee on an awkward second-inning slide. The injury is landing him on the injured list, with the Red Sox activating Eduardo Nunez to take Lin's place on the 25-man roster.

Lin was getting his sixth start of the season and first as an outfielder. While he only managed a .200 batting average (4-for-20), his defense and second and shortstop was valued by the Red Sox.

Nunez had been rehabbing from an injured back, going 2-for-15 with a home run for Triple-A Pawtucket.
