When the Bobby Orr statue outside TD Garden went missing panic in the North End ensued ... kind of.

Was it stolen? Did the Bruins ship it up to the bubble in Toronto? Is there something that needed to be added or subtracted?

Turns out, the real reason for the statue's absence was about as boring as could be.

The Bobby Orr statue is just on vacation this week. Avoiding some crane work in The Hub on Causeway today and his statue base will undergo some maintenance while he's away. He'll be back in time for playoff hockey --

This isn't, of course, the first time the statue -- which was designed by Harry Weber and unveiled on May 10, 2010 -- has been relocated.

Perhaps a trip to Toronto for the landmark wouldn't be such a bad idea. The Bruins seem like a team that could use a comforting bit of home right now. (For more on the Bruins' latest loss click here.)
