With throngs of media in front of him at the Patriots' Super Bowl Media Night, Tom Brady was predictably asked about the controversy regarding his decision to cut his interview with the Kirk & Callahan Show short Monday morning.
Brady's weekly interview with the WEEI morning show lasted just more than two minutes after voicing displeasure with Alex Reimer's remarks regarding the quarterback's daughter. (To read more about the comments made by Reimer Thursday night, click here.)
"I would certainly hope the guy is not fired. I would hate for that to happen," Brady said.
He added, "I just think any player is protective of their kids. I never stayed away from criticism. I understand criticism is part of sports. But I certainly don't think my children or any other children deserve to be in that. That's I felt.
"I didn't," Brady said. "I thought it was fun. I thought it was a great opportunity. So I'm glad you like it. Hopefully, the fans like it. That's really who it was for."
