Some of the more interesting names in the Red Sox farm system are slated to join rejoin the team.
According to a source, pitchers Tanner Houck, Bryan Mata and Jay Groome, along with infielder Jeter Downs and outfielder Jarren Duran are among those who will be called upon to fill out the Red Sox' player pool (which currently stands at 50). (MassLive was first to report Downs' addition, with Alex Speier first surfacing the other names.) The likelihood is that the group will be reporting to Pawtucket for their workouts later this week.
All five are considered among the top prospects in the Red Sox' farm system with all but Groome getting some playing time in Spring Training 1.0.
