Video: Hanley Ramirez gives jersey to disabled young fan after hitting home run

MIAMI -- It didn't matter that it was in the middle of the game, Hanley Ramirez was going to make good on his pregame promise.

Prior to what would result in a 7-3 Red Sox win over the Marlins at Marlins Park Monday night, Ramirez promised a disabled young fan his game jersey if the first baseman hit a home run.

Sure enough, in the top of the fifth inning Ramirez launched his first homer of the season over the left field wall. After crossing home plate he proceeded to find the boy in the stands to hand over the player's uniform top, signing it in the process.

"Yeah, when you see things like that, that's life. It can happen to anybody," said Ramirez of the boy, who was unable to walk or talk. "Little kids born like that, it's upsetting. But we've got to keep it strong mentally."
