The Patriots beat the Chargers, 41-28, Sunday afternoon to advance to the AFC championship against the Chiefs, and a lot of people tuned in to see it.

The game delivered a 45.9 local household rating and a 76 market share in the Boston television market, while averaging 1.8 million viewers. This was the highest rated game of the entire season for the team, but also its best divisional round rating since it got a 50.5 against Houston in 2012.

For reference, last year's divisional round game against the Titans (on a Saturday night) got a 43.5 rating.

Sunday's AFC title game will likely be even bigger. Kickoff is set for 6:40 p.m.
