The Patriots have hit the fields for OTAs, which are beneficial for younger players as well as newcomers to organizations, which for the Patriots would include tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins.
But, the veteran tight end won't be present this week.
According to Kevin Duffy of the Boston Herald, Seferian-Jenkins will miss week's OTA sessions because of an excused absence.
The 26-year-old was signed as a free agent and figures to be in the mix for the No. 1/2 tight end role along with Ben Watson.
This shouldn't be viewed as a huge deal, especially if he will be present at the others, but it is worth noting as this week is the first chance to see the entire team on the field together since the Super Bowl.
