It's been almost a month since the Patriots' videotaping incident involving the Bengals sideline in their game against the Browns, which was the week before they hosted New England.
Along the way there's been no evidence linking Bill Belichick and the Patriots' football operations to the matter, rather a member of the Patriots' video production team who was filming a "Do Your Job" piece on an advanced scout.
And as the investigation nears its end, that continues to be the case.
According to the Washington Post, the NFL has found no evidence linking Belichick or others on the Patriots' football staff to the incident. It also adds the investigation is winding down and could end this week, but it is still unclear when the league will announce a penalty.
As for what the penalty could be, barring a last-minute discovery of something different than what has already been found, it will be similar to other game-day infractions. That would be a fine and possible loss of a late-round draft pick.
The day after the incident, the Patriots released a statement admitting the video production crew illegally shot the Bengals sideline and field in an effort to show what an advance scout sees when going to an away game, but had nothing to do with football operations.
Belichick has repeatedly said he had nothing to do with the incident.
The Patriots will host the Titans on Wild Card Weekend Saturday night.
