FOXBORO -- There was a funny moment at Bill Belichick's press conference Tuesday when the coach referred to watermelon rolls and badminton contests.
What question got that reaction?
A reporter wondered about Belichick keeping an eye on rosters across the league to figure which players might be available on the waiver wire.
"Absolutely, what do you think we've been doing?" Belichick said. "We look at all 31 teams. We're in camp. We don't have watermelon rolls and badminton contests and all that. We're looking at football. We're looking at our team and we're looking at 31 other teams."
With 53-man rosters being finalized Saturday, players will become available and it wouldn't be surprised to see the Patriots add a player or two cut by another team.
