The NBA draft lottery is over and the Celtics came away feeling pretty good.
With New Orleans getting the No. 1 pick, they don't have to worry about the Knicks or Lakers getting that selection and then trading it for Anthony Davis. Why does this matter? Because the Celtics potentially could be interested in acquiring Davis, which could lead to Kyrie Irving staying in Boston.
According to Frank Isola of The Athletic, Danny Ainge wants to keep Irving and he believes if the Celtics can land Davis that would allow it to happen.
Irving has a player option for next season so there's a chance he could become a free agent.
The Celtics certainly have the pieces to land Davis in a trade if that is indeed the route the organization wants to go.
It should be an interesting next few weeks to say the least.
