It does not appear the Boston Marathon will be held on Patriots Day this year.

According to multiple reports, the race will not take place on Monday, April 20 due to coronavirus, and it's now possible it is held on a Monday in September instead. The race has never been canceled or postponed in its 124-year history.

WCVB in Boston was first to report the news.

A decision on a new date is hoped to be made by the end of the week, but since so many towns are involved there are many logistics to work out.
