The Red Sox and Yankees will not open a four-game series Thursday night after all.
Due to rain, the game has been postponed and will be made up Aug. 3 at 7 p.m as part of a day/night doubleheader at Yankee Stadium. It also means the two teams will now play eight times in an 11-day stretch from July 25 to August 4.
The rain out may not have come at a bad time for the team, as it looks to rebound following a tough series against the Indians where it allowed 26 runs in the three games.
