It appears likely Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels will be leaving this offseason to take a head-coaching job with the Colts.

When it comes to replacing him, one of the names thrown around was Brian Daboll, who most recently won a National Championship as Alabama's offensive coordinator, but before that spent three years as the Patriots' tight ends coach.

While he seemed like a potential fit, it won't be happening, as he has accepted a job with the Bills as their offensive coordinator. It is a homecoming of sorts for him as he went to high school in the Buffalo area and played college football at the University of Rochester.

Patriots wide receivers coach Chad O'Shea now likely is the favorite to take over for McDaniels if he does in fact depart.
