In what came as somewhat of a surprise, Cam Newton is a member of the Patriots as of Sunday night.
According to ESPN, the Patriots signed Newton to a one-year, incentive-laden deal and he now will compete with Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer for the starting job. The former MVP was released by the Panthers this offseason after playing just two games last year while battling a Lisfranc injury.
Newton reacted to the move on his Instagram story.
