Devin McCourty made it official Thursday on a Sports Spectrum podcast that he's returning in 2019, and apparently so is his twin brother Jason, although it never was up for debate.

"I was never contemplating retirement," Jason wrote in a text message to NJ.com. "I got grouped into Dev's thing."

Devin is under contract for one more season with the Patriots, while Jason is a free agent.

It would not be a surprise to see the Patriots look to bring back Jason, as he was a solid No. 2/3 cornerback for them this season and he and Devin's leadership went a long way with some of the younger members of the secondary.

Jason finished with 70 tackles and an interception, playing in all 16 games during his first season with the Patriots.

The McCourty twins talked all year about how special the year was for them, and it wouldn't be a surprise for them to try and make it happen again in 2019.
