It seems like a yearly tradition of rumors swirling of Jason McCourty joining his twin brother Devin in New England. Well, this year might finally be the year.
According to multiple reports, Jason McCourty has been released by the Browns and is now a free agent.
It's easy to connect the dots, as the twins have publicly stated they would like to play together and the Patriots are in the need for another cornerback, specifically a veteran. The 32-year-old played last year in Cleveland after his first eight years in the league came in Tennessee.
It doesn't appear money will be a major factor, as last offseason he signed a two-year deal worth $6 million. Winning may be his top priority right now, and obviously New England would have that.
Currently, the Patriots have Stephon Gilmore, Eric Rowe, Jonathan Jones, Cyrus Jones and Ryan Lewis at cornerback, so they could use a veteran to give some stability to the position.
