Not too many people can say they know what it is like to be a quarterback for Bill Belichick, but Drew Bledsoe is one of them.
The former Patriots quarterback was in town Wednesday night for the Celtics-76ers playoff game and made the media rounds.
When speaking with NBC Sports Boston, Bledsoe was asked about the reported tension between Belichick and Tom Brady, and the former QB seemed to downplay it, as he believes it won't impact anything on the field.
"Tommy should go into the Hall of Fame just for that — just because he's put up with Belichick for 18 years," Bledsoe joked. "Those two guys, when you've been together in a professional relationship for that long, it doesn't matter what you are doing. Whether you are laying bricks or playing quarterback, there's going to be tension at some point in 18 years.
"They have been so dang successful together over time that obviously they have been able to put any of that stuff aside and go on and continue to have success. I think they will until one of them, or both of them at the same time, decide to ride off into the sunset -- they are going to continue to be a formidable team."
Bledsoe and Celtics guard Terry Rozier have been connected this postseason, as in the first round against the Bucks Rozier accidentally referred to Eric Bledsoe as Drew Bledsoe and then Eric Bledsoe said he didn't "know who the [expletive]" Rozier was.
