ESPN and FOX reportedly battling for Peyton Manning

There appears to be a fight over Peyton Manning this offseason.

According to the New York Post, both FOX and ESPN would like Manning to come work for their network and be their primetime game analyst.

ESPN is apparently the most aggressive, as the report says it is willing to "back up the truck" for Manning in order to replace Jon Gruden on Monday Night Football.

The network is also considering rebooting the broadcast and removing Sean McDonough. Three internal possibilities are said to be Joe Tessitore, Steve Levy and Dave Pasch, but ESPN is still deciding whether or not these would be upgrades over McDonough.

FOX just acquired the Thursday night package for a reported $3.3 billion for five years, so they would like to make a splash there. This may be more intriguing to Manning, as he reportedly would like to have weekends off.

With that being said, the report does note Manning has never given the full vibe he wants to get into broadcasting.
