ESPN reportedly reaches out to Peyton Manning for Monday Night Football role

After CBS locked up Tony Romo for the significant future, ESPN is turning its focus towards Peyton Manning.

According to the Sports Business Journal, ESPN has reached out to Manning's representatives to see whether he's interested in taking over the lead analyst job on Monday Night Football.

In the past, he's resisted because he did not want to cover his brother Eli. But, now that he's retired maybe things have changed. Manning has done some stuff in the past for ESPN+.

Over the weekend, it was reported Romo signed a long-term deal with CBS for close to $17 million year, which came following the network offering Manning $10-12 million for the same role.

If Manning does agree to join ESPN, it's likely Booger McFarland would be out of Monday Night Football and perhaps Joe Tessitore as well.
