Could Tom Brady missing spring workouts actually help Patriots receivers? One former wideout thinks so

One of the biggest storylines going into Patriots training camp is the chemistry between Tom Brady and his new receivers given the quarterback missed almost all of the spring workouts, as he only attended the mandatory minicamp.

But, maybe this isn't as big of a deal as some think.

Wes Welker, who was one of the receivers Brady trusted the most, doesn't think it's that big of a deal and it could actually benefit the receivers.

"I personally think so," he said to NBC Sports Boston's Phil Perry while promoting Dr. Robert Leonard Hair Transplant. "It's got to get figured out somehow, and it can't always be him doing it."

Welker added: "He's got a family. He's got a wife who wants to take the family on vacation. What are you really teaching Tom Brady at this point? And, you know, if you're worried about him getting on the same page with the receivers, that's really why you would have coaches. The coaches are really able to emphasize with those guys what they want them to do. It's a really good opportunity for those guys to play together without Tom and kind of figure it out."

Only time will tell and we'll get a pretty good idea once training camp officially begins next Thursday.
