After being DFA'd by the team earlier on Friday, Hanley Ramirez posted a farewell message to Twitter.
It was short and sweet: Thank you #RedSoxNation. It's been real. Love you always
The Red Sox have seven days to either trade or release Ramirez. It is expected there will be at least a few teams interested in the 34-year-old.
Ramirez is hitting .254/.313/.395 with six home runs and 29 RBI in 44 games this season.
