With all the drama in Oakland with Antonio Brown, some believe the wide receiver potentially could be released.
Naturally, the first thought many have if that happens is would Bill Belichick and the Patriots would be interested?
Appearing on Dale & Keefe Friday, Michael Irvin was asked his thoughts on the potential of that happening.
“We are in the studio and we get all of the news as it is coming down and that is the first thing everybody says is, ‘This thing is going to fall apart. It is going to be a train wreck and then Bill Belichick will get him and put Humpty back together again and he will be a great player all over again. Wow,’" Irvin said.
“This would be his Michelangelo. This would have to be his Michelangelo, his greatest work. From what we see right now, this would be his greatest work.”
Irvin also believes Mike Tomlin and the Steelers should get more credit for dealing with Brown.
“Pittsburgh was a good situation. I love Mike Tomlin, I don’t care what anyone else says. I love him and maybe now we owe him more credit than we gave him for managing all things this long when you see how things are going right now," he said. "Maybe we didn’t give him enough credit for managing it and keeping it on track for as long as he did. Man, I am just flat out worried — how could you not understand it. I thought about all the guys in the locker room, they must be thinking, ‘Wow, we’ve done everything.’ They have. Say what you will, Oakland has done everything right. … This is concerning with what is going on with Antonio Brown."
