Isaiah Wynn: It felt real good to help Patriots win

FOXBOROUGH — Technically, Isaiah Wynn has been in the NFL for a season and a half, but in terms of playing time, going into Sunday he had played just five NFL quarters.

The first-round pick of a year ago missed all of last season with an Achilles injury, and then was placed on injured reserve with a foot/toe injury after Week 2 of this season.

Wynn was able to return Sunday against the Cowboys and the left tackle played all 70 snaps in the 13-9 win.

"It felt real good, just being able to help the team any way I can," he said afterwards.

Wynn credited the rest of the offensive line for helping him not only in the game, but during his time missed.

"They helped me a lot," he said. "Just like last year, just getting a chance to be around those guys, who have been here for a while. They do everything right. Being able to get kind of under their wings the past two years, that's been great."

While not directly related, Wynn's return to the unit helped the running game. The offense finished with 101 yards on the ground, its most since Week 6 against the Giants.

Wynn wasn't exactly eased into his return either, as he was forced to block Cowboys defensive end Robert Quinn, who entered the game with 7.5 sacks. Quinn finished with one sack and three quarterback hits.

"It was a big challenge of course, everybody knows that defensive line is good, especially that defensive end," Wynn said. "So just being able to step up to the challenge was good."

While it was only one game and a 13-point output, there were multiple positives with the offense and Wynn's return was certainly one of them.
